Although only specific to the audio industry "Silver" CD-Rs are not reproducing the data with the same integrity as the original file. For instance, inconsistent drops in some bass freqs, or "messy" stereo imaging, or "dirty" artifacts appearing in the upper freqs. Gold reflective surface CD-Rs don't do this
