WIZARD: WHITE QUEEN GETS ONGOING SERIES
While rumored to have been in development for some time with a variety of creators attached. Wizard’s recent X-Men Special Edition released last week confirmed that Emma Frost, the erstwhile White Queen is slated to get her own ongoing, monthly series in July.
According to Wizard’s, the series will be written by Karl (Soldier X) Bollers, with art by Randy Green. The series will kick off with a “year one” style arc tentatively entitled “Higher Learning” that tells of Frost’s upbringing as a teenager from a wealthy family. Grant Morrison will serve as script consultant on the series.
"We'll see the development of her powers, a bit of her family life and what it was like growing up with her," Bollers explained to Wizard. "We're using what Grant established in New X-Men #139 as sort of a loose template, but for the most part we're creating Emma's history from scratch."
Bollers’ outline for the series will feature a series of smaller arcs which will encompass a larger story, and that a year or so into the series, the storyline will catch up to current continuity.
