Superheroes in space!

Marvel is reportedly developing a film version of Guardians of the Galaxy, their futuristic sci-fi team book about space-faring, alien superheroes who, despite living thousands of years in the future, somehow still always wind up running into their 20th century counterparts.

Twitch, whose editors must be sleeping with the Marvel secretarial pool or something lately, has the (slight) report, saying only that their sources indicate that a "film version is now in active development."

The Guardians first showed up in 1969, and subsequently popped up in a variety of Marvel books over the years. Jim Valentino wrote and drew the team's own title in the 1990s, and then a new version of the Guardians launched in 2008 from Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning.
