THE WB ORDERS THE FLASH PILOT
According to today’s Variety, Smallville will get another shot at DC company, as The WB has ordered a pilot based on The Flash. Following Smallville’s formula, it will have a “no tights, no flights” feel, meaning no red costume with lightningbolts on it.
According to the trade, Todd (Resistance) Komarnicki is writing the pilot and will executive produce as well through Warner Brothers Television and his own Guy Walks Into a Bar production company. The network has stipulated a penalty if the project is not picked up as a series.
The series will, natch, feature a speedster, and will also have a strong time-travel element, as the protagonist will be a recent college graduate from Gotham City who learns that he can move so fast that he can travel forward or backward in time.
