    cuando decís que no da señal al bootear con el kernel nuevo, te referís desde el momento que se cierra grub y empieza la carga no da señal o que se ve el texto en la carga y al momento de entrar al programa gdm3 (donde te logueas), se cae la señal.

    si es lo último podría llegar a ser un problema en la carga de las x (y probablemente tengas que instalar xserver-xorg-video-intel de bakpotrs ya que al fin y al cabo ese seria el driver de video)

    para ver cual puede ser el error tendrías que postear el contenido de

    Que tal estimado fedemos, claro me refiero a cuando esta cargando el kernel nuevo, cuando esta cargando el grub pantalla negra con letras blancas se ve un poco y luego al terminar ya se pone negra la pantalla sin mostrar el gdm3 para el logueo. Intento con el driver que me pasaste y te paso los log del Xorg tengo Xorg.0.log, Xorg.0.log.old y Xorg.1.log:

    Estimado fedemos, tambien trate de instalar el driver de video que me pasas, aparentemente ya lo tengo instalado:

    apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-intel

    xserver-xorg-video-intel ya está en su versión más reciente.
    fijado xserver-xorg-video-intel como instalado manualmente.

    hola darthsidious estaba mirando el Xorg.0.log y el Xorg.1.log pero veo que no sale ningún error (EE) aunque si algunas advertencias (WW)

    sobre el tema del driver xserver-xorg-video-intel yo me refería al que se encuentra en los repositorios de backports para debian squeeze

    EStimado fedemos, con el gestor de paquetes trate de instalar el driver que me recomendas pero ya lo tengo, en realidad tengo una version mas actual (2:2.15.0-3~bpo60+2) lo que hice fue reinstalarla pero no obtuve solucion al problema.
    Tambien instale el otro kernel que me recomendas, linux-image-3.2.0-0.bpo.2-rt-amd64 (3.2.15-1~bpo60+1) [backports] y al reiniciar la pc y bootear con éste kernel tampoco me mando señal, tuve que reinciarla varias veces con el kernel 2.6 y un par de mañas mas como entrar en modo consola volver al entorno grafico y reiniciarla para que al bootear con el kernel nuevo entre mande señal el gnome...que revelde que esta esta maquina por dios...muchas gracias.

    hola darthsidiou, esto me tiene un poco desconcertado, ya que por lógica con el kernel 3 + el driver de video intel tu i7 tendría que estar funcionando sin problemas. y encima en tu Xorg.0.log no hay errores

    tengo una notebook con un core i3 segunda generación y gráfica intel, corriendo en un debian 7 wheezy (testing) con gnome 3.4 y todo funciona bien.

    A lo mejor se podrías realizar una instalación limpia pero con un debian testing y si no te gusta gnome3 podrías probar kde o lxde xfce o el fork de gnome2 que se llama mate (mate es un poco complicado de instalar pero no imposible)

    para este tipo de instalaciones se requiere conexión a Internet y la instalación, dependiendo del tipo de conexión, puede durar hasta dos horas.

    si querés podes descargar el businesscard.iso
    que pesa solo 67mb y trae únicamente el instalador (el netinst.iso trae el instalador y el sistema base )

    Hola Estimado Fedemos, si como decis, muy desconcertante esta maquinita perversa! Podria ser de intalar el wheezy con gnome 3.4 para ver como me va o sino con otra interface gráfica. Por último otra consulta, cuando ya tenes instalado el grub y un debian por mas que tengas un dvd para instalar otro linux y por bios el 1er boot desde la lectora de dvd como haces para que bootee realmente del dvd porque ni bola con el grub pasa directamente.     con respecto al tema del orden de booteo, el mismo se configura desde la bios. si al poner el DVD y reiniciar la pc esta no bootea en primer lugar la unidad lecto/grabadora de CD/DVD, tendrías que revisar el orden de booteo desde la bios.
