Agrego un datito mas... No se puede solamente porque el cablemodem necesita del MAC address de la placa que es unica para cada una de las placas de red que puedas tener... Ese dato lo utiliza para validar la coneccion. Si la placa de red que hace el request no es la que ellos te configuraron no anda.
Si solo son dos maquinas, con una placa de red extra para la red y un cable crosslink estas hecho, no tiene sentido gastar mas plata. Si son más maquinas vas a necesitar un hub si queres usar Ethernet como medio (otra alternativa no te la recomiendo).

Dos recomendaciones que probe y funcionan son Winproxy al igual que Sygate .
Winproxy tiene mejor interface y mas opciones pero es dificil de conseguir los cracks de las ultimas versiones y suelen ser problematicos.

Nadie provo spoffeando la MAC en las dos maquinas? (es decir una de las dos placas se spoffee con la MAC de la otra) y ahi conectandolo al hub

pue q' si....pero no a todas las placas de red se les puede modificar el firmware

en fibertel con los modem motorola surfboard SI se puede.

conectas el cablemodem en el uplink del hub con un cable cross-over y conectas las maquinas en el resto del hub

pones el i-net explorer y vas al ip 192.168.100.1 (es el ip del modem) y lo configuras como dhcp server.

configuras los win para que usen dhcp y listo el pollo, te asigna ips 192.168.100.x

yo lo tenia asi pero lo saque porque necesitaba port fowarding

Dejas todo en blanco y pones "obtener una direccion de IP automaticamente".
